Harrison REMC held its 84th annual meeting May 10 at the Harrison County Fairgrounds.

Members registered and voted through a drive-thru and then had the opportunity to go inside the Windell building to enjoy ice cream and other refreshments, play bingo and stop by informational booths. There was a special children’s area, too.

Between 3 and 5 p.m., more vehicles arrived than was originally anticipated, which caused a delay in registration. Between 5 and 7 p.m., we experienced no delays in registration. We apologize for the delay during the first half of the registration period due to the overwhelming turnout and will take steps to greatly improve the process for the 2023 annual meeting.

Approximately 1,200 members registered at the event and received a $20 bill credit for attending. The weather was beautiful, and it was nice to see some familiar faces and talk to quite a few of you.

All members received their registration cards and annual meeting information in the April issue of Indiana Connection. Districts 2, 3 and 6 were up for election this year. No opposing candidate petitions were received for any of those districts, so Pat Book (District 2), Brian Koetter (District 3) and Craig Engleman (District 6) were seated for another three years.

The board of directors and employees would like to thank all those who participated in the event.

Members can view the 2022 annual meeting video and financials on the REMC website.
