Bart Nesius

Bart Nesius, DISTRICT 1

Bart Nesius is the incumbent director from District 1. Nesius and his wife, Cindy, live in rural Rensselaer and have two sons, Bryce (26) and Braden (22). Nesius owns and operates a farm where he raises corn and soybeans.

Nesius was elected to the Jasper County REMC board of directors in 2000. He currently serves as board president. He has also served as REMC’s board representative on the Wabash Valley Power Alliance board of directors since 2013. He is vice chair of their executive committee, helping make power supply decisions for 23 electric cooperatives. He has received his Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate and Board Leadership Certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

His hobbies include golfing, riding ATVs, fishing, camping, riding his horses, and watching sports.


David Duttlinger

David Duttlinger, DISTRICT 3

David Duttlinger is the incumbent director from District 3. He and his wife, Jill, live in rural Wheatfield and have four children: Nathan, Max, Grant, and Annabelle. The Duttlingers are members of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, where he serves on the finance and other committees.

Duttlinger completed his associate degree in soil and crop science at Purdue University and was a member of the Delta Theta Sigma fraternity. He has owned and operated the family farm for 24 years, serves on the board for the Lower Kankakee Watershed, and has served on the board of directors of the Jasper County Farm Bureau Agro Key.

He is also a graduate of the Methodist Hospital paramedic program, which has allowed him to be a professional firefighter and paramedic for the city of Portage for 20 years. Duttlinger holds membership in the International Fire Fighter Association-Local 3151, has been a member of the Wheatfield Volunteer Fire Department, and serves as a paramedic and instructor for Wheatfield EMS.

During his eight years on the Jasper County REMC board, Duttlinger attained his Credentialed Cooperative Director certificate, served on various committees, and sits on the Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ executive board.

Duttlinger enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.


The Annual Meeting of the members will be held on July 26 at the Jasper County Fairgrounds beginning promptly at 6 p.m. in the Show Arena. Bill credit drawings will be held after the meeting.
