Clark County REMC welcomed Amy Tewell in April as the new member services specialist. Born and raised in rural Harrison County, she resides in Jeffersonville. It was a big adjustment to go from rural Lanesville to city life, but she enjoys the atmosphere where she lives now. Amy and husband John recently celebrated eight years of marriage. The couple have a 5-year-old son named Mason.

Tewell is a great addition to the REMC team. When asked what she enjoys most about her job she said, “I enjoy working with everyone at Clark County REMC. I also enjoy speaking with the members to help provide solutions in regards to why they are contacting the office.”

As the newest employee of Clark County REMC, Clay Willis was hired in early June as an apprentice lineman. He has begun his first year of the apprentice training program offered by Hoosier Energy. The program, Hoosier Energy Apprenticeship Training and Safety (HEATS), takes four years to complete and requires over 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and more than 500 hours of classroom instruction. Through a partnership with Ivy Tech, Willis will participate in an academic program which will earn him an associate degree.

Willis joins us from Henderson, Kentucky, where he was born and raised. He resides in Jeffersonville and in his spare time enjoys fishing and hunting. When asked what he enjoys most about his job he said, “The most enjoyable part of my job is that every day is different than the last and presents a new challenging task that we, as a crew, must work together to accomplish.”
