Noble Rural Electric Membership Corporation is a cooperative owned by the people it serves. When the REMC was founded in 1936, its bylaws established a board of directors and its duties. The board is made up of nine consumer-owners (members). Three directors will be elected to three-year terms at Noble REMC’s annual meeting/picnic on June 2.
The board of directors election process is underway. Any Noble REMC member (whose name appears on the REMC electric bill) may seek a position on the board of directors if the district in which he/she lives is up for election. Director elections are open to all members, regardless of race, sex or creed. The following districts are up for election.
District 3: Wayne Township in Noble County and that part of Milford Township in LaGrange County. Currently being served by Andy Strack.
District 6: Jefferson and Albion townships in Noble County. Currently being served by Steve Kirkpatrick. (Kirkpatrick will not be seeking re-election.)
District 7: Allen and Swan townships in Noble County. Currently being served by Robert Marshall. (Marshall will not be seeking re-election.)
