LaGrange County REMC’s annual meeting gives our members the opportunity to vote on the cooperative’s board of directors while enjoying time with neighbors and community organizations.

This year will see the election of two board members representing Districts 3 and 4. Both candidates are incumbents and are running unopposed.

Attend the annual meeting Saturday, June 9, to vote and enjoy a morning of free entertainment and community engagement. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., with the opportunity to vote for directors closing at noon.

District 3

Representing members in District 3 which includes Bloomfield Township and the east portion of Clay Township, Jeff Hampshire has served on the LaGrange County REMC Board of Directors since 1992. He also serves on the Wabash Valley Power Board of Directors and is chairman of its All Requirements Contract Committee. He has earned his Credentialed Cooperative Director, Board Leadership and Director Gold certificates through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Hampshire is a certified wildlife biologist and retired after 32 years managing the Pigeon River Fish and Wildlife area near Mongo. He enjoys hunting, fishing, cross country skiing and woodworking. He and his wife, Krisanne, enjoy sharing their love of the outdoors with their three granddaughters.

District 4

Appointed to the board this year, Clifford Hibbs represents members from District 4, which includes Clay West and Newbury townships. He joined the board in January 2018 after the death of Mark Bontrager in November 2017.

Hibbs is an officer with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and resides near Shipshewana with his wife, Sandy, and family. They are members of the New Life Fellowship Church. Hibbs enjoys camping, working on classic vehicles and spending time with family.
