For Indiana electric cooperatives, serving the community means more than just providing safe and reliable elec-tricity. It also involves pitching in to help meet the needs of our member-consumers in other ways, too.

Beginning on Aug. 10, your cooperative employees will be participating in a community day activity to benefit our local community and membership. This year we will provide member-consumers with a reflective house address sign. The signs will be specific to each house, featuring the house number on a green reflective sign. This project started five years ago, with the goal of working through each area of our service territory offering all member-consumers a sign. We are in the final year of this project and pleased to have provided thousands of signs to our membership.

Member-consumers located in the following areas should have received a postcard giving them instructions on what they can do to receive a sign from KV REMC. The areas of focus will include: east of Highway 49 in Valparaiso, Chesterton, Union Mills, Hanna, Wanatah, Hamlet, Grovertown, Walkerton and north of Knox. This is a service we are providing free to our member-consumers.

Part of our commitment to the community is also our commitment to you and your safety. Through this project, we hope that if there is ever a moment that someone needs to locate your residence quickly, this sign can assist them and you.
