Indiana cooperatives, including Marshall County REMC, dedicated their time to a statewide community day of service initiatives. Twenty-eight of Indiana’s electric cooperatives completed a project that met a specific need within their service areas.
This initiative allowed cooperatives the opportunity to use their time, skills and expertise to make a positive impact throughout the state of Indiana.
Marshall County REMC employees assisted the Bread of Life Food Pantry with lighting upgrades to its new carport. The REMC furnished the labor to install conduit and boxes for lighting and receptacles in their carport, along with pulling in all the conductor for each circuit.
The updates made to the carport will provide a safer environment for not only the volunteers, but also the Bread of Life recipients while waiting in line for food.
The Bread of Life Food Pantry provides one source of nutritious food supplements to the needs of the poor. This service is offered in the spirit that maintains the dignity, self-respect, and privacy of those they serve.
