BOARD OF DIRECTORS CANDIDATES
District 1
Suzanne Parmer, Incumbent
Parmer and her husband Mark live on West County Road 400 North in Greensburg. They have two children, Cole and Sidney. Parmer is a graduate of North Decatur High School and IUPUI. Parmer is the current director for District 1 and completed the Credentialed Cooperative Director Program (CCD) in September 2021. She is a co-franchisee/owner of H&R Block offices in Southeastern Indiana for 20 years. She is currently the office manager and senior tax preparer of the Greensburg office. Parmer has served on Eli Lilly Scholarship, Decatur County Community Scholarship Foundation, Krista Eldridge Scholarship, St. Catherine of Sienna Parish Council and Finance Committee. Currently a member of St. Catherine of Sienna church, executive officer for Home Builders Association of Southeastern Indiana, and North Branch golf course. She has been a DCREMC member for 25 years. Parmer says belonging to a member-owned cooperative is her favorite thing about being a DCREMC member. She adds “I’m ready to continue to accept the challenge of ensuring that decisions are made for the benefit of our members/owners. I will continue to serve our member/owners with a strong fiduciary responsibility and make owners aware of changes that may affect reliability and affordability of our REMC.
Lawrence Young
Young and his wife Delores live on West Base Road in Greensburg. He is a graduate of North Decatur High School and later obtained a heating and air conditioning certification from Ivy Tech College. Young works as an electrical contractor, operating his own business for the last 10 years in addition to owning and operating his farm for the last 46 years. Young has been a Decatur County REMC member for 47 years and likes being part owner of the utility cooperative from which he receives his electrical power.
District 2
Polly Ann Fox
Fox and her husband, Terry, live at Lake Santee in Decatur County. She is a graduate of North Decatur High School. She went on to obtain an Associate of Science degree in Computer Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. Fox spent several years working in Information Technology as a programmer, analyst and consultant. She then moved to an Account Executive position with Siemens Health Solutions covering the Midwest territory. Fox made a career change and joined Edward Jones Investments as a Financial Advisor from which she retired after 17 years of service to her clients and community. As a recent retiree, Fox says she now has the time to dedicate, and the keen interest to serve as a director. She has served on several community boards, business and community advisory councils and various community and church committees. Fox has been a member of DCREMC for eleven years and is interested in the electric cooperative business and all it offers as well as progressive services it may offer to members in the future.

Have served the members of the DCREMC for the past 3 years
I have been a member of the DCREMC Board of Directors for the past three years. I would like to thank the members for voting me to the position. My first and top priority, if reelected, is to represent the members of the DCREMC. I will continue to work for the members on ALL ISSUES, including having true transparency on ALL aspects of the DCREMC. I also believe the bylaws, and policies of the DCREMC should benefit the members of the DCREMC, as much as they benefit the corporate part of DCREMC. – Carl A. Riedeman.

District 1
Jerry Closser
Closser lives on 650 North in St. Paul. He and his beloved late wife were married 44 years. Closser graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School and went on to play football and baseball at Butler University. He left Butler to start the Truck Line in 1977, which he sold in 1999 to Celadon. Closser served as an Executive VP at Celadon for several years. With an entrepreneurial spirit he also launched several other businesses including Millennium Contractors, LLC and SiteCrete, LLC and purchased Trace Construction, LLC. Closser has extensive experience serving on various boards including the Indiana Moor Truck Association, Country Club of Indianapolis where he was Finance Committee Chair, Hillcrest Country Club where he served as President, and the Crown Colony Golf and Country Club. He has been a member of DCREMC since 1999 and looks forward to serving on the nominating committee.
Kathy Verseman
Verseman and her husband James live on 600 North in Greensburg. Verseman has had a flourishing career with WTRE radio station since 2005. In 2010 she became co-owner of the station. She is also proud to been a life-long farmer raising beef cattle. Verseman has served on several boards including the Decatur County Historical Society, Greensburg Meals on Wheels, Decatur County Extension, and is currently involved with the Community Health Clinic of Decatur County. As a member since 2001, Verseman says her favorite things about being a member of the cooperative are that it’s member-owned and the multitude of services offered by DCREMC.
District 3
Daniel (Scott) Litmer
Litmer and his wife Elena live on County Line Road in Batesville. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and has worked at Wood-Mizer Manufacturing for 40 years. Litmer began his career as a laborer and worked his way up and has held numerous positions in many capacities across Wood-Mizer’s facilities. His roles span managing manufacturing products, building new facilities, employee training and development as well as compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA standards. He also served as Plant Manager/Project Manager at Wood-Mizer’s European Headquarters. Litmer currently serves on the board for the New Point Volunteer Fire Department where he has served as president for 7 terms across his years of service. Litmer has been a DCREMC member since 1992. He enjoys traveling in his free time and says his favorite part of being a member of the cooperative is the reliable service DCREMC provides.
William (Bill) Wietlisbach
Wietlisbach and his wife Bonnie live on 700 East in Greensburg. They have four children, Lacey, Lindsey, Derek, and Dustin and two grandchildren. He graduated from Batesville High School and went to work for Dr. Paul Hirt. His career in the agriculture field has extended to Lowes Pellet and Grain, Nobbe Seeds, Circle C Farms, and finally Stein Farms where he has worked as a farm hand for 35 years. Wietlisbach has served on the board of the New Point Volunteer Fire Department in the past and is an active member of St. Catherine of Siena church. He has been a DCREMC member for 30 years and says his favorite thing about being a member of the cooperative is that when he hits the light switch, the lights usually come on!
