Southern Indiana Power members will see on average a 2% increase in their overall electric bills as of April 1.
We are yet again seeing increases in costs from both the wholesale and distribution side of the business at the exact same time. The increase will be shown as a power cost tracker per kWh purchase. The monthly bill for a member using 1,000 kilowatt-hours will be $2.68 or 2% higher than current charges.
The increase will be reflected on your bill this month (which is from your April use).
We know this isn’t great news, but we will continue to to provide reasonable rates, excellent reliability and customer service compared to investor-owned utilities because of our local focus.
As always, the main objective of your electric cooperative is to deliver reliable electricity at a reasonable cost.
