For many of us, the last few years have been filled with challenges, including rising costs for goods and services. 

Noble REMC’s power supplier, Wabash Valley Power Alliance (WVPA), faces increasing costs due to fuel price increases and supply-chain constraints. Additionally, unseasonably warmer weather in 2021 has impacted energy sales, which means WVPA hasn’t recovered all of its energy supply costs. 

WVPA is a not-for-profit, like Noble REMC, so the increased cost of generating and transmitting electricity to over 325,000 members in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri must be recovered from its consumers. As a member of WVPA, Noble REMC will be affected by the increase.    

To recover the increase in the cost of power we purchase and distribute from WVPA, Noble REMC will institute a Power Cost Adjustment  (PCA) increase of $0.0035 per kWh. 

The effect of the PCA for the average members who use 1,000 kWh a month will be an additional $3.50 per month. The increase began on the electric bill you received in May and will continue until further notice. A PCA allows us to make a billing adjustment without changing our rate monthly, if necessary.  

Noble REMC remains one of the lowest-cost energy providers in our area. We, alongside WVPA, are working hard to manage expenses to continue to deliver on this mission, but with the state of the energy industry, we need to accommodate to fluctuating prices.
