Electing directors is one of the most important things a member can do. Your vote is your voice.
Last year, we conducted the director election through a hybrid approach, which included options to vote electronically, by mail and in person at the meeting. After reviewing the results, we found that the number of members who chose to vote in-person at the meeting was very low.
We understand that many of our members have conflicting schedules and other responsibilities, making voting electronically and by mail the preferred way of participating in the director election. As a result, the board of directors made the decision to forgo the in-person voting option this year and retain the options to vote electronically and by mail.
Ballots will be mailed to all active members of the cooperative on Feb. 22, and electronic voting will also begin on that date at 7:30 a.m. The bios of each of the director candidates will be included with your ballot, along with a postage-paid return envelope. Instructions for voting electronically will be printed in the top right corner of your ballot.
All ballots must be received by March 22. Electronic voting ends at 11:59 p.m.
Voting options
With such a wide variety of ways to vote, it can be a challenge to know which method to choose. Here’s a brief explanation of each option to help you decide.
Mail voting is an easy way to vote and a good method for members who have less access to the internet.
Online voting allows a member to vote instantly, eliminating the chance of the ballot being held up or lost in the mail, but it requires access to the internet.
SmartHub voting is an easy way to vote electronically. To utilize this method, the member must have an active SmartHub account and access to the internet.

Voting by mail, online and SmartHub begins on Feb. 22 and ends on March 22.
There will be no on-site voting this year. You must vote by mail or electronically.
Voting in the 2023 Director Election does NOT qualify you for the door prize drawings. Members MUST be present at the meeting to be eligible for door prize drawings.
