Marshall County Fiber celebrated its 1000th customer on March 16. The newly connected customers, Robert and Beverly Brown, were overjoyed to receive high-speed fiber internet and phone service.
“The service has been great,” Robert Brown said. “We are excited to finally be able to stream our smart TV and our phone is much clearer.”
Marshall County Fiber offers a variety of packages at varying rates and speeds to fit everyone’s needs. When signing up for Marshall County Fiber, homeowners also have the option to get phone service over the internet at a competitive price. There is no fee for installation and unlimited data for streaming and downloading.
The partnership between Marshall County REMC and RTC Communications began in 2018 with a pilot project to provide 220 homes north of the REMC’s office on US 31 with residential fiber. Since then, Marshall County Fiber has completed over 500 miles of fiber throughout Marshall County.
Marshall County Fiber’s mission is to provide dependable, reliable, high-speed fiber internet to rural communities. The opportunity to serve rural communities has been strongly dependent on grants, loans and other funding, therefore, the locations of the buildout have been determined by areas that are identified as unserved or underserved by broadband.
Marshall County Fiber is currently finishing construction around Pretty Lake and north of the lakes. Later this year, Marshall County Fiber will begin construction in the Southwest corner of Marshall County, building fiber for the rural community around the town of Culver and Lake Max.
Marshall County Fiber is continually seeking opportunities to grow its territory. Homeowners who are interested in receiving fiber-to-the-home are encouraged to visit our website, marshallfiber.com, click “project map,” enter your address and submit an interest form. A customer service representative will be in contact with you as we complete the build in
your community.
