Chances are you’ve never seen hot dogs roasted like THIS before at a summer camp!

At the Indiana Touchstone Energy® Camp, hot dogs are cooked at the end of a hot stick, the kind carried by an electric lineman, because these dogs are zapped with 7,200 volts of electricity.

This shows campers what electricity can do as part of a live-line electrical safety demonstration … but that’s just part of a fun-filled four-day, three-night adventure at Camp Tecumseh.

There’s also all the usual camp fare: wall climbing, canoeing, swimming, zip lining, shooting, a little singing, dancing, and cooking hot dogs the old-fashioned way, too: over a campfire.

The 13th annual Touchstone Energy Camp, sponsored by participating local electric cooperatives (REMCs and RECs) all around the state and their cooperative power suppliers and statewide association, will convene June 3-6. It is open to students who are in sixth grade right now.
