DISTRICT 2

WALTER HUNTER

INCUMBENT

Walter Hunter

Walter Hunter has served as District 2 director since 2000 and is completing his eighth term on the board. He also serves as the Indiana Electric Cooperatives board member delegate.

Hunter is a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and currently resides in Pleasant Run Township. He and his wife, Cynthia, have five grown children, 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Hunter is a graduate of Heltonville High School and is a self-employed grain and livestock farmer. He serves as a member and lay minister of North Bedford Church of Christ.

Hunter is running unopposed.

DISTRICT 5

RYAN FLEENOR

Ryan Fleenor

Ryan Fleenor is running for District 5. Fleenor is a dedicated professional and community member from Scottsburg, where he has lived for the past 18 years with his wife, Beth. They have three children: Elle, a recent graduate of Butler University; Chase, a junior at Western Kentucky University; and Marley, a junior at Scottsburg High School. Fleenor graduated from Purdue University and Salem High School. He currently works at S&L Heating, Cooling, and Electric in Austin, Indiana, where he has been since 2011. Prior to this, he worked at Robert’s Heating, Cooling & Refridgeration in Georgetown.

Actively involved in his community, Fleenor serves as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church of Leota, Indiana, and is a member if the Hoosier Hawg Hunters Bass Fishing Club. His past contributions include roles on the Purdue University Extension Board, the Gibson Township Volunteer Fire Department, and as a volunteer for the Scott County 4-H Shooting Sports. He has also been an adult captain and booster club president for the Scottsburg High School Bass Fishing Team, and a trustee at Bethel Baptist Chuch.

John M. Broadus, PE

JOHN M. BROADUS, PE

John M. Broadus, PE, is also running for District 5. Broadus is a dedicated professional engineer with a career spanning over three decades. Born and raised in Scott County, Broadus graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 1987 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1991. He has extensive experience in bridge and structural engineering, currently serving as vice president – bridges and structures with WSP USA. His previous roles include 14 years with HDR Engineering and eight years with Sieco, Inc., culminating as vice president of transportation.

Broadus and his wife, Deana, reside in western Scott County with their daughters, Lillie and Maggie. They moved back to Scott County in 2013 after living in Denver, Colorado, where their children were born. The family is actively involved in the community, attending Zoah Christian Church and participating in the Scottsburg Band of Warriors, with Boradus serving as president of the Scottsburg Band Parents Association. Additionally, Broadus is the chairman of the Leota Frolic Committee and has been a committed 4-H volunteer.

A registered professional engineer since 1996, Broadus holds licenses in Indiana, Kentucky, and other states. He has been affiliated with numerous professional organizations, including the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association.

DISTRICT 8

DAVE HALL

INCUMBENT

Dave Hall

Dave Hall has served as District 8 director since 2018 and is now completing his second term on the board. He and his wife, Bradie, are lifelong residents of Jackson County. They’ve built deep roots in the community raising their three teenage daughters. Hall is a graduate of Brownstown Central High School and Ivy Tech State College.

Hall is also a farmer and owner of Dave Hall Crop Insurance since 2002. He also serves as state representative for house district 62 where he is vice-chair of the house utilities committee and is a member of the local government and natural resources committees. Hall has been actively involved in several local boards, reflecting his commitment to community service.

BRAD HOENE

Brad Hoene

Brad Hoene is also running for District 8. He and his wife, Amanda, have four children: Zoie, Anslee, Max, and Lane. He grew up in the White Creek area of Bartholomew County and now resides in Hamilton Township, Jackson County. Hoene attended White Creek Lutheran School through Eighth grade and graduated from Columbus North High School.

Hoene works as a heavy equipment operator and construction foreman at All Star Paving, having previously been employed by Kings Trucking. He is an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serves on the Jackson County Cattlemen’s Board, and is a member of Local 103 Operator’s Union. In his free time, he enjoys supporting his children at baseball games, cattle shows, the Jackson County Fair, and four-wheeler races. Hoene also enjoys hunting, swimming, and camping with friends.
