Boone REMC employees, board directors, and members celebrated reaching the $1 million milestone of our Operation Round Up program in June!
The event, held at the Whitestown Branch of the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, recognized the collective impact that our members have had on our local community since the program began in 2006. Attendees enjoyed tours of the new library, a recent Operation Round Up grant recipient, and visiting with other cooperative members and our employees.
Program administrator Pam Warmoth presented the history of Operation Round Up, sharing how an electric cooperative in South Carolina was the program’s creator, which spread to other co-ops across the country. She also shared the guidelines for grant requests and the board of trustees’ process in awarding grants.
A panel discussion featured current and former Operation Round Up trustees, who shared more about their experience serving on the board.
If you’re not currently enrolled in Operation Round Up and would like to be, or if you have any questions about the program, reach out by calling us at 800-897-7362 or emailing contactus@bremc.com.
