Meet your director candidates

Ginger Calhoun

Ginger Calhoun and her husband, Gary, met while moving into college. Originally from Evansville, she moved to Argos with Gary after they married. She earned a bachelor’s degree in vocational home economics with minors in business and social studies from Indiana State University and a master’s degree from Indiana University South Bend. Calhoun taught at Argos High School for 39 years before retiring in 2014. She is a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and is the local president of the 1-F Retired Chapter. She also serves as vice chair of the Indiana State Teachers Association Board of Directors’ State Retired Chapter.

Mikel Large

Mikel Large and his wife, Terri, have four sons: Connor, Caden, Colton and Camden. Large owns and operates Large Farms, LLC, managing 3,000 acres in Marshall County. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bethel College. Large serves as chairman and supervisor for the Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District. He is a member and treasurer of Camp Creek Church of the Brethren. Large earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) certification and serves as vice chairman of the Marshall County REMC board.

Andy Lemler

Andy Lemler and his wife, Connie, have two daughters, a son, and several grandchildren. A lifetime resident of Marshall County, Lemler owns and operates a 100-cow dairy and farms 1,800 acres in Bourbon Township. Lemler has been a 4-H leader for 33 years and a director of a dairy association for 31 years. He is an active Argos United Methodist Church member and serves on the Marshall County REMC board.

Tom McFarland

A lifelong Marshall County resident, Tom McFarland grew up on an 80-acre farm south of Argos. He earned a bachelor’s degree in managerial accounting from Manchester College and has served as director of finance/business manager for three school districts: Argos, Whitko, and Triton, where he has worked for the past 10 years. McFarland and his wife, Jessica, married in 2003 and live on 21 acres in Tippecanoe Township with their two sons, a senior and a freshman at Triton. The family spends many evenings attending school sporting events for track, baseball, tennis, football and basketball. McFarland spends his free time hunting, fishing and relaxing outdoors.

Jon Rettinger

Jon Rettinger and his wife, Jeanette, have two children and operate a 1,500-acre family farm in Bourbon Township. He earned a degree in agricultural engineering from Purdue University. Rettinger represents Marshall County REMC on the Wabash Valley Power Alliance board. Rettinger earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) certification and serves as secretary of the Marshall County REMC board. Rettinger and his family are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bremen.

Craig Rogge

Craig Rogge and his wife, Amanda, have two daughters, ages 3 and 12. He moved to Marshall County from Wisconsin as a child and graduated from the John Glenn School Corporation and Grace Baptist Church & Christian School. He works at Carter Lumber in Plymouth, raises cattle, and farms a small number of acres.
