As we begin August and start to think about the summer winding down, I want to share some highlights that are a testament to our cooperative’s commitment to education, community, and our valued members.

Recently, our linemen had the honor of participating in the Kosciusko Sheriff Department’s Camp H.E.R.O. This annual camp provided local youth with a firsthand look into law enforcement and emergency services. Our linemen brought a high-voltage demonstration trailer, offering an engaging learning experience about electrical safety. Watching the kids’ faces light up with curiosity and understanding was a powerful reminder of the importance of our cooperative principle of education, training, and information.

As schools in our area gear up for a new academic year, this experience at Camp H.E.R.O. holds even more significance. Just as the youth prepare to learn and grow, we at KREMC are dedicated to regularly educating our community about safety, energy efficiency, and the vital role of cooperatives. The transition from summer to school season is a time of learning and growth for everyone, and we’re proud to contribute to this educational journey.

August is also a momentous time for us at Kosciusko REMC, as it marks Member Appreciation Month. Our Member Services team has planned something great for member appreciation.
