The dust has settled on the 2024 Annual Meeting and along with a record attendance, record prizes, and great food, it was truly a fantastic event. The election during the event replaced long-time District 3 Director, Danny Easterday, who chose not to run for re-election.
Easterday served Orange County REMC for 33 years. He was elected to the board of directors in 1991. During his tenure, Easterday served in each of the officer seats, including board president.
He led the cooperative during some very challenging times, and he consistently led well. Easterday is also to be commended for serving on the board while juggling the responsibilities of his own business.
“He was a valuable member of our organization and I witnessed his contributions and work ethic. The members should know what an asset he was,” said Orange County REMC General Manager/CEO Matt Deaton. “Danny treated his fellow directors with respect and extended that same respect to me, which I greatly appreciated. Danny certainly helped in transforming the co-op with his support of the execution of the fiber to the home project and I feel he left the cooperative better than he found it.”
Thank you, Danny, for all your years of service to your cooperative.
