Due to COVID restrictions, Harrison REMC held the 83rd annual meeting on April 6 and 7 as a drive thru event at the cooperative office in Corydon. This was the first time the meeting — traditionally held at the high school — took place at the REMC office. Approximately 1,700 members registered at the event and received $25 bill credits for attending. The weather was beautiful, and it was nice to connect with REMC members again after not being able to have an in-person meeting last year.
All members received their registration cards and annual meeting information in the March issue of Indiana Connection. Districts 1, 8 and 9 were up for election this year. No opposing candidate petitions were received for district 8 (Danny Wiseman) and district 9 (Roy Zimmerman). Those directors were seated without member vote. Deborah Zupances petitioned to run in District 1 against incumbent David Poe. The credentials and election committee counted all ballots, and David Poe was selected by the membership to represent district 1 for the next three years.
The board of directors and employees thank all of those who participated in the event and look forward to seeing you next year.
Members can view the 2021 annual meeting video, vote count and financials on the REMC website.
