To keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the Aug. 26 board meeting.
1. All directors were present along with CEO Steve Seibert and administrative assistant Lisa Hinton. Also present was accountant Amy Ramsey.
2. The July 29 board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
3. The membership certificates were reviewed.
4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
5. The director’s report was reviewed and approved.
6. The board approved the IRS Form 990 as presented by Ramsey.
7. Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC.
8. The CEO report was presented with Seibert reporting the following items:
a. Seibert reported the cooperative will continue with the normal work schedule for September, following CDC guidance.
b. Seibert informed the board Gov. Holcomb’s disconnect order expires Aug. 14. The July 27 mask order is still in effect.
c. Seibert provided a paycheck protection program update.
d. Seibert reported on Southern Indiana Power’s patronage capital and transformer rebate from United Utility Supply.
e. Seibert informed the board two linemen provided neighboring co-ops with storm assistance.
f. Seibert reported on a Tell City substation outage that occurred when a snake above a breaker blew a high side fuse. The outage lasted a little over three hours.
g. Seibert reported the NRECA regional meeting will be held virtually in October and the IEC annual meeting will be a virtual business-only meeting this year.
9. Seibert reported the next safety meeting is scheduled for Aug. 27. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents and no public liability claims to report.
10. Seibert discussed the Hoosier Energy wholesale power cost tracker with the board. There will be no changes to member rates at this time.
11. Director Gary Waninger was selected voting delegate and Seibert alternate for the NRECA Region I and IV virtual meeting.
12. Seibert reported on a CFC special membership meeting held Aug. 14.
13. Director G. Waninger reported on a Hoosier Energy board meeting held Aug. 18.
14. Director Randy Kleaving reported on the Indiana Electric Cooperative board meeting held Aug. 19.
15. Recommendations from the wage and salary committee were presented by committee chairman Kevin Waninger and approved by the board.
16. Chairman Jeff Vogel read thank you notes from Rita Harris and Heritage Hills band boosters.
17. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30.
