The 79th Clark County REMC Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, at Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg. The most important part of the annual meeting is the registration and voting for REMC members to serve on the board of directors. The board of directors is the legal body which both the members and the government hold accountable for the actions of the organization. This year, two REMC members, representing Districts 4 and 5, will be elected to serve three-year terms.
Please note the start time of the business session is at 7 p.m. in the main gymnasium. Our doors open with registration and pre-meeting activities beginning at 4:30 p.m. Registration and voting takes place in the auxiliary gymnasium from 4:30-6:30 p.m. That’s where you’ll receive the registration gift and cast your ballot. Online voting will be accepted until April 5. Mail-in ballots must be received by April 7. Note: You must come to the 2018 annual meeting and register in order to receive your gift.

District Number 4
Consists of Carr and Union townships in Clark County.
Joseph W. Basham

Basham is a mechanical supervisor at Lehigh Hanson Cement in Speed, Indiana. He is a 1973 graduate of Silver Creek High School. He attended millwright classes at Ivy Tech Community College and attended several classes through ISBA. He is recognized as master board member.
Basham is a member of the West Clark Community School Board, the Indiana School Board Association, Indiana Freemasons, and St. John Paul II Catholic Church. For the past 30 years, he has coached cross country at Silver Creek Middle School.
Basham and his wife, Beverly, have three adult children and have been members of the REMC since 1992.
District Number 5
Consists of Lafayette and New Albany townships in Floyd County.
Robert E. Kleehamer

Kleehamer is a regional senior vice president for business development at German American Bank. He graduated from Our Lady of Providence High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bellarmine University.
Kleehamer serves as a board member for Lincoln Council Boy Scouts and Hope Southern Indiana. He serves on the Investments and Finance Committee for Community Foundation of Southern Indiana. He is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and serves as its finance chair. Kleehamer serves on the finance committee for Providence High School, as well as various committees for One Southern Indiana. He also serves as the president of the New Albany/Floyd County School Building Corp. is a charter member of the Kiwanis of Historic New Albany, and sits on various committees for the Metro United Way and the American Heart Association.
Kleehamer and his wife, Deena, have been members of the REMC since 1993.
Michael A. Miller

Miller is a director of accounting – high risk assets and capital accounts for Farm Credit Mid-America. He is a graduate of Purdue University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting and then earned his MBA from Webster University.
Miller serves on the Louisville Marine Aquarium Society.
Miller and his wife, Pamela, have three children — Ethan (17), Owen (15), and Leah (13). The Millers have been members of the REMC since 1998.
