To keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the July 29 board meeting.
1. All directors were present. Also present were CEO Steve Seibert, Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton and Manager of Member Services Rachael Goldsberry.
2. The June 24 board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
3. The membership certificates were reviewed.
4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
5. The directors’ reports were reviewed and approved.
6. Seibert reported on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC. Seibert discussed the eight-phase project and the status of each phase, noting that the timeline for completion is still on schedule.
7. As the first item of new business, the CEO report was given with Seibert reporting the following items:
a. Seibert reported the cooperative is returning to a normal work schedule with all employees starting at the same time, beginning in August. All COVID-19 protocols will remain in place.
b. Seibert provided a Cooperatives ONE update to the board.
c. Seibert discussed the 2020 IEC residential billing survey.
d. Seibert reported on the Paycheck Protection Program.
e. Seibert reported the NRECA regional meeting will be held virtually in October.
8. Chuck Tiemann, senior risk management/regulatory consultant with IEC, conducted pole top and bucket truck rescue safety training on June 25. Brandon Gentry, safety and training at Hoosier Energy, provided solar site safety training on July 26. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents and no public liability claims to report.
9. Seibert was elected voting delegate for a special membership meeting of CFC to be held virtually on Aug. 14.
10. CEO and Board evaluation forms were distributed.
11. A wage and salary committee meeting has been scheduled for Aug. 20.
12. Seibert reported on a marketing committee meeting held July 17. Goldsberry gave a logo/branding presentation to the board.
13. Director Gary Waninger reported on the Hoosier Energy board meeting held July 14.
14. Director training information was provided.
15. Chairman Jeff Vogel shared a thank you note received from Bailey Percifield who was chosen for an Operation Round Up scholarship.
16. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be Wednesday, Aug. 26.
