In an effort to keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the Sept. 30 board meeting.

1.    All directors were present along with CEO Steve Seibert and administrative assistant Lisa Hinton. 

2. The Aug. 26 board meeting minutes and special board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

3. The membership certificates were reviewed. 

4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.

5. The directors’ report was reviewed and approved.

6. Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC, reviewing notes from a Sept. 17 project meeting.

7. The CEO report was the first item of new business with Seibert presenting the following items:

a. Seibert reported the co-op is continuing with a normal work schedule for October while still following CDC guidelines. 

b. Seibert informed the board of past due account balances due to the
    impact of COVID-19 mandates.

c. Seibert provided an annual meeting recap for directors.

d. Seibert reviewed a 2020 summer load
    control report.

e. Seibert informed the board that IEC Community Day has been canceled
    for 2020.

f. Seibert reported the following upcoming meeting dates: Operation Round Up board meeting – Oct. 14, NRECA regional meeting (virtual)  – Oct. 14 and 16, IEC annual meeting (virtual business only meeting) – Dec. 7.

8. John Wolfram of Catalyst Consulting LLC provided a rate design presentation and discussion via teleconference.

9. Chuck Tiemann, job training and safety instructor with IEC, conducted chainsaw safety training on Aug. 27.  Brandon Gentry, training and safety instructor at Hoosier Energy, conducted substation training in September. 

10. Tiemann and Jay Novotny of IEC conducted load securement safety training on Sep. 22. Roger Wenning, job training and safety instructor with IEC, conducted forklift training on Sept. 30. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents and no public liability claims to report.

10. Director Gary Waninger was selected voting delegate and Chairman Jeff Vogel alternate to the 2020 Indiana Electric Cooperative’s annual meeting to be held Dec. 7.

11. Director Randy Kleaving was elected to serve as Southern Indiana Power’s Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ director for 2021. 

12. Seibert was selected as voting delegate for the NRUCFC regional meeting to be held in conjunction with the NRECA regional meeting.

13. Seibert and Director Kevin Waninger reported on a wage and salary committee meeting held Sept. 22.

14. Director G. Waninger reported on a Hoosier Energy board meeting held Sept. 21.

15. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held Wed., Oct. 28, at 7 p.m.
