During Bob Broeker’s 21-plus years on the Marshall County REMC board of directors, he’s been especially grateful for three things. “I have met new people, developed new relationships and gained an immeasurable amount of knowledge,” he said. “I have truly enjoyed being part of a business and organization that always operates in the best interest of its members.”
Broeker, who most recently served as the board’s chairman, did not seek re-election and retired from the board at this year’s REMC Annual Meeting on April 7.
Since retiring from farming several years ago, Broeker and his wife, Lois, have spent much of their time in Houston visiting their daughter and her family. “Stepping back from the REMC board will hopefully give me the opportunity to spend even more time with them and also give my wife and me an opportunity to travel more extensively,” Broeker said.
“Thank you to the board of directors and to the cooperative members for trusting in me and allowing me to serve,” he added.
The REMC’s directors and staff will certainly miss Broeker and wish him a happy retirement.
