Members will see a friendly, and maybe familiar, face in the District 3 seat of the LaGrange County REMC Board of Directors.
The board recently appointed Tony Bontrager, a lifelong resident of LaGrange County and the former director of finance at Westview School Corporation, to the position.
Bontrager will fill the seat left vacant with the retirement of longtime director Jeff Hampshire, who served the co-op for more than 25 years.
“I am excited and appreciative of the opportunity to serve the members of LaGrange County REMC,” Bontrager said. “I believe the REMC is known for bringing valuable services, programs and opportunities to its members, and I look forward to helping continue that culture into the future.”
In addition to his new position on the REMC’s board of directors, he also serves the community as secretary of the LaGrange County Community Foundation Board and as a member of the leadership team at New Life Fellowship in Topeka.
He resides in LaGrange with his wife and three children, and works as an employee benefits consultant with RE Sutton & Associates, based in Carmel.
