I like to view the start of a new year as the opportunity to renew my spirit and focus. I usually set some personal goals for myself, but I also like to think about goals for my team, my community and our cooperative.
In the spirit of fun, I’m going to list my #goals!
PERSONAL
#bepresent — One of my goals this year is to be present in the moment, wherever I am.
#getfit — Who doesn’t have this goal, right? Well, 2019 is my year! Who’s with me?
MY TEAM
#beawesome — My team is already awesome, but this is just a fun reminder to do our best for our members every day.
#safetyfirst — It’s easy to feel the pressure to perform our duties quickly. However, our top priority will always be safety. I want my team to feel empowered to take a step back, take a deep breath, and make sure they are always considering safety first in every situation.
MY COMMUNITY
#giving — This year, I have a renewed focus on giving back to the community through service and time (see also, personal goal of #bepresent).
#impact — In everything I do, I hope it will be impactful to the community in which I live and the communities in which we serve.
OUR COOPERATIVE
#excellence — I want us to continue to strive for excellence in everything we do at the cooperative — from answering phones, to setting a pole, to sharing information with you.
#engagement — This goal is reflective of our strategic planning, but calls for action from our members as well. We must continue to share information and gather feedback from our membership to best serve you.
I challenge you to set goals of your own, or join me in achieving my goals this year. When you see me, I expect you to hold me accountable and check my progress. Keep in mind though, I will do the same for you.
If you haven’t engaged with your cooperative in the past, this is your year! Engage with us on social media, stop in and see us in the office, send me an email, come to the annual meeting. We can only grow and improve by working together. I look forward to hearing from you.
