June 18, 1935 Boone REMC was started and began signing up members.
July 22, 1935 The Rural Electrification Administration granted its first loans for $567,926 to the cooperative.
Jan. 9, 1936 The first pole was set.
April 10, 1936 Boone REMC became the first electric cooperative established in Indiana incorporated as the Boone County Rural Electric Membership Corporation.
May 22, 1936 The first 60 miles of line were completed. The Clark Woody farm, a 120-acre farm in rural Thorntown, Indiana, was the first to be electrified.
August 1936 A second section of line was completed.
December 1937 Two thousand rural families and businesses were receiving REMC power in Boone County.
