At LaGrange County REMC, we’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in our mission to provide fast, reliable, and affordable broadband service to our rural community. With the successful connection of our 4,000th broadband customer, we’re more committed than ever to bridging the digital divide and empowering our residents, schools, businesses, and farms with the connectivity they need to thrive.

Dan and Marilyn Faulkner, our 4,000th customer and residents of Wolcottville, were a little hesitant to switch to REMC because their previous internet provider suited them just fine. “Most of our neighbors got LaGrange County REMC’s internet when it first got here. We waited a little bit, but knowing we can save some money each month, we finally decided to switch. And the process was super easy,” Marilyn noted.

For decades, our cooperative has been dedicated to providing electricity to the people of LaGrange County, but as the world evolved and the need for high-speed internet became more critical, we knew we had to step up. Access to reliable broadband isn’t just about faster speeds — it’s about unlocking opportunity. Whether it’s for distance learning, telemedicine, running a business, or staying connected with family and friends, broadband is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity.

The journey to connect our 4,000th broadband customer has been a collective effort — one that truly reflects the spirit of our community. We began by listening to the needs of our members and working diligently to identify areas where internet service was either unavailable or subpar. Armed with this knowledge, we invested in the infrastructure needed to bring high-speed internet to our rural areas.

We’ve made incredible strides, but the real impact of this milestone lies in the support we’ve received from our members. Every new connection represents not just a customer but a family, a business, or an institution that is now more connected to the world. Their feedback and trust have been invaluable in shaping our growth and our service offerings. We couldn’t have reached this point without their enthusiasm and support.

At LaGrange County REMC, we are a cooperative, and that means our focus is on serving our community, not on maximizing profits. Unlike large corporate providers, we are able to prioritize local needs over bottom-line pressures. This customer-first philosophy ensures that we are continually improving our service and reinvesting in the community that supports us.

We also understand that for rural areas like ours, customer service and personalized support are crucial. When you call us, you’re speaking to someone who lives in the same community and understands the unique challenges and opportunities we face.

This local presence allows us to respond quickly to issues, offer tailored solutions, and build long-term relationships with the people we serve.

While celebrating our 4,000th broadband connection is an exciting achievement, we’re far from done. Our team is working tirelessly to expand our network further, ensuring that even more members have access to the high-speed internet they deserve. We are continually looking for new ways to improve our infrastructure, offer innovative services, and support the growth of our community.

As we look to the future, we remain focused on our core mission: to serve our members and empower them with the tools they need to succeed. Whether it’s through expanding broadband access, offering energy solutions, or being a trusted partner in every facet of community life, LaGrange County REMC is here to support our neighbors, every step of the way.

Thank you to each of our 4,000 broadband customers, and to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected LaGrange County.
