If you were a Kankakee Valley REMC member-consumer between 1972 and 1980, you can expect to see a credit on your electric bill you receive in November. Referred to as a capital credit, it is a tangible benefit of our commitment to prudent financial management and to you being a KV REMC member-consumer.
As a non-profit, any margins earned over and above its expenses, maintenance or capital improvements are returned to the member-consumers. This year, your board of directors elected to retire over $1.7 million in capital credits to those who were members between the above-mentioned years. The amount you receive is based on how much electricity you used during those years.
