In this section, we’ll tell you where our maintenance and construction crews will be and what they will be doing.
Substation Maintenance: To improve performance, reliability and the growing electrical demand, an upgrade will begin on the south circuit of the West Toll substation in New Durham Township. The upgrade will include larger conductors to handle the ever-growing load and demand.
Pole Maintenance: KV REMC crews work year-round to maintain and improve the electrical distribution system. As part of this maintenance, our crews conduct regular pole inspections. Member-consumers in the Wanatah, Valparaiso, Boone Grove and Winfield areas will see our crews replacing poles.
Fiber Project Update: Supply chain and inventory issues have delayed the continuation of the fiber project over the past few months. With inventory arriving this month, contractors plan to continue installing overhead fiber in the Bass Lake, Knox and North Judson areas.
AMI Meter Deployment: Meter technicians continue to deploy new AMI meters throughout the system. When an employee visits your home, they will remove your existing meter and replace it with the new equipment. The process may cause your electricity to blink. This project will continue into 2023.
