In this month’s “Employee Spotlight,” we’d like for you to meet our line superintendent, Patrick Nobbe.

Nobbe, a Greensburg native, is a graduate of Greensburg High School. He served eight years with the United States Navy as a part of the Seabees — the Naval Construction Force of the United States Navy. In his humble opinion, the Seabees are arguably the best division of the U.S. military.

Nobbe later obtained his associate degree of applied science and worked as a lineman at Decatur County REMC for 14 years before being named to his current position last year. Nobbe has always enjoyed working outside and expected to work in the masonry or carpentry fields. What drew him to the cooperative was the opportunity and stability of the industry.

Nobbe says the cooperative allows him to make an impact and a difference in the community.

“It’s still a nice feeling, no matter how tired you are, to get a thankful wave from our members after restoring their power,” said Nobbe.

As if he isn’t busy enough at his job, Nobbe is active outside of work spending time with his family and church, and helping coach his daughter’s travel softball team. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching his favorite teams — the Indiana Hoosiers, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds, and Indiana Pacers.

When asked if there was anything else he’d like to express, Nobbe added that he considers himself fortunate to work at DCREMC.

“To be able to contribute to the essential needs of our members is an honor. And to be able to do it in a place I call home is the icing on the cake. Thank the Lord, thank a veteran, and thank a lineman,” said Nobbe.
