Colton Feller

LaGrange County REMC employees Michael Peterson and Colton Feller have entered the Rural Electric Apprenticeship Program (REAP) to become journeymen linemen. REAP is a four-year program that includes intensive training through Indiana Electric Cooperatives, our statewide service organization. The program consists of 576 hours of classroom instruction as well as 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. Upon completion of the program, Peterson and Feller will also earn an associate degree in applied science through Ivy Tech Community College.

Both men began their careers at LaGrange County REMC on the right-of-way crew. Peterson joined the crew in 2011 and was promoted to right-of-way foreman in 2016.

“I’m excited to serve the cooperative in this new capacity and help keep the power flowing to our members’ homes and businesses,” said Peterson. He and his wife, Talia, and their sons reside in southeast LaGrange County.

Feller began his career with the REMC as a tree trimmer/groundman in 2016. He looks forward to learning new skills through REAP that will lead to a new role and the ability to work with the other linemen to keep the lights on for our members. Feller currently resides in southwest LaGrange County.
