Bartholomew County REMC is offering two programs this summer aimed at helping young people build valuable skills while having fun.
Indiana Youth Tour
This week-long trip to Washington, D.C., is perfect for current high school juniors who are interested in learning about the cooperative business model. Students will have the opportunity to interact with elected officials and gain valuable knowledge on this topic. Since 1964, this program has helped over 50,000 students, including 116 from BCREMC. The application deadline is March 1, so don’t wait to apply.
Camp Kilowatt
This is a unique three-day camping experience for current sixth graders at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana. The camp provides a fun and engaging experience where students can learn about electrical safety, line work, and energy conservation. It’s perfect for students interested in science or just wanting to learn new things while having fun with outdoor camp activities.
Bartholomew County REMC is committed to providing educational opportunities that empower the youth to become future leaders. These programs and scholarships not only help students learn new skills but also give them the confidence to pursue their goals and positively impact their communities. The cooperative principles are all about working together for the common good, and these programs are a perfect example of that. Let’s support our youth and help them achieve their full potential. Encourage any student you know who might be interested to apply before the deadline. For more information and application links, please refer to page 6. Let’s inspire the next generation of leaders!
