Operation Round Up scholarships awarded

Six local high school seniors were the recipients of the Kankakee Valley REMC Operation Round Up scholarship totaling $8,000. Two $2,000 scholarships and four $1,000 scholarships are given annually to graduating high school seniors whose parents/guardians participate in the Operation Round Up program. Solar tours available to groups

The one-megawatt solar farm located off I-64 near the Lanesville exit is a 4,320-panel array sitting on 19 acres. The array produces enough electricity to power about 150 homes per year.
