Instead of my normal monthly article, for several months we will be featuring each of our seven districts. Each one is a unique and special place to call home. We’ve also asked each board member from those districts to tell us a little about where they live and why they love being there. We hope you enjoy this series!
— Jason Clemmons, CEO
District Two is made up of Oregon and Charlestown townships and has more members than any other district. Nearly one in five REMC members live in District Two, and this district is home to wonderful places such as Nine Penny Branch State Nature Preserve and Charlestown State Park. Steve Dieterlen has represented District Two on the Board of Directors for 17 years and had this to say about his beloved home district:
WHAT LOCAL EVENTS OR TRADITIONS IN YOUR DISTRICT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY YEAR?
District Two is fortunate to host the Clark County 4-H Fair. This is a great event where kids are entertained, teenagers can hang out, and everyone can visit with friends and acquaintances. And, of course, you will want to visit the REMC booth!
WHAT IS YOUR FAMILY LIKE?
I love to talk about my family. Our three kids, their spouses, and our five grandchildren all live in the area. Nana and Pop are truly blessed.
WHAT HOBBIES OR ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY OUTSIDE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WITH CLARK COUNTY REMC?
My favorite activities are playing with the grandkids, bicycling, woodworking, and home projects.
HOW DO YOU STAY CONNECTED WITH THE COMMUNITY WHILE SERVING IN YOUR ROLE?
I enjoy staying connected with the community. I like talking to people at community events. I am involved in church and with the Lions Club in Charlestown.
