Dubois REC was able to award $13,319 in grants to local organizations with the help of members who allow their electric bill to be rounded up a few cents to the next dollar each month as part of Operation Round Up. The details of each grant and the project it will fund are listed below:
- Transforming Hope Center for Women’s Ministries received a $2,500 grant to help purchase a new computer. Vikki Hentrup, Michelle Schenetzki, Becky Zook, and Teri Noris are pictured accepting the grant from Kim Mehringer, Operation Round Up trustee.
- Mentors for Youth of Dubois County received a $1,500 grant to help purchase a copier/printer. Erin Kidwell and Kaiva Hurt are pictured accepting the grant from Mehringer.
- Southern Indiana Veterans Living and Rehab received $2,500 to help fund housing for veterans. Donna Smith, Angela Crecelius, and Dan Crecelius are pictured accepting the grant from Mehringer.
- Crawford County Coon Hunters Club received a $1,250 grant to upgrade electrical service at their facility. Jerry Brown is pictured accepting the grant from Mehringer.
- Fraternal Order of Police, Wood Capital Lodge #138, $4,439, to fund electrical service upgrade. Nathaniel Kern, Clint Gogel, and Jesus Monarrez are pictured accepting the grant from Mehringer.
- Patoka Valley Cadet Squadron — Civil Air Patrol received a $1,130 grant to purchase Aerospace Education supplies. (Representatives were not available for a photo.)
