I would like to say “thanks” to all of our employees and members who give back to the community throughout the year.
I especially want to thank the members who participate in Operation Round Up. Your generosity from rounding up your bill up each month has supported many worthy causes in 2018.
Through Operation Round Up, a grant was recently provided for the ceramic pansies displayed at the Miami County courthouse in honor of Veterans Day. Grants have also supported local school programs, volunteer fire departments, first responders, food banks, and summer reading programs. If you do not currently participate in Operation Round Up, please contact the office to become a part of this wonderful program that costs the average member around $6 per year.
Miami-Cass REMC, as a cooperative, is a proud sponsor of 4-H in both Miami and Cass counties. The program provides important life skills to its members. Your cooperative also sponsors many programs at our local schools, including electrical safety programs to local fourth grade classes. In addition, Miami-Cass REMC contributes to the local circus, United Way, and many other area groups who contribute to making our community a better place to work and to live.
I also want to take a moment to thank the dedicated employees of Miami-Cass REMC. Your co-op associates do a lot of volunteering in the community. We have an employee who coordinates bags of needed items and provides them to the homeless. We have many employees who coach football, basketball, soccer and softball teams providing our youth with activities to keep them busy in productive programs.
The board of directors, employees and I wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Thank you for your generosity and for helping to strengthen our communities.
