Once again, through our Operation Round Up® program, we see the power of our members joining together and making a huge impact on our community. Thanks to over 80 percent of our membership for rounding up their bills each month to the nearest dollar and donating the “spare” change to the program.
Since the beginning of the program in 2002, $695,000 has been given back into our local communities. The money has been used by organizations who serve all sectors of our community — youth, seniors and everyone in between.
The grantees from the October distribution of the Noble REMC Operation Round Up Trust are:
- McMillen Health — $1,000 for health education for local schools.
- Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana — $1,500 for the Noble County Farm Wagon program.
- Life & Family Services — $1,500 for Earn While You Learn educational program materials.
- Albion Lions Club — $2,000 for AEDs for the community.
- St. Mary of the Assumption School — $3,005 for a refrigerator unit.
We are thankful for the people who are willing to serve others. Noble REMC, through Operation Round Up and our members, is honored to be able to provide money that helps make our community a better place to live.
The Noble REMC Operation Round Up Trust Fund is accepting grant applications until Jan. 2, 2018, for the next grant cycle. Operation Round Up is an ongoing charitable fundraising program benefiting area non-profit community organizations, projects and events.
Non-profit community based organizations in Noble, DeKalb and adjoining counties, where we serve, are eligible to apply. An application is available at our office in Albion or can be downloaded from our website at nobleremc.com.
