LaGrange Scholarship Winners

LaGrange County REMC is proud to announce the recipients of our 2023 scholarships. We awarded three $1,000 scholarships to help students in our community further their education. To be eligible, the recipients’ parent(s) or guardian(s) must be members of LaGrange County REMC. Candidates were judged based on grade point average, a short autobiography and letters of recommendation, as well as their involvement at school and in the community.

CONNER KEESLAR is a graduate of Prairie Heights High School and will attend Purdue University this fall to major in agriculture education. He plans to get a teaching degree and return to the high school to teach. “I have learned important lessons through FFA and I plan on using these for the rest of my life,” Keeslar noted. He is the son of Corey and Pamela Keeslar of LaGrange.

CARLY RASBAUGH is a graduate of Lakeland High School and will attend the University of Kentucky to major in psychology and Spanish. Her career goals are to continue pursuing mental health work and to open an art therapy business. “Being educated and licensed to do good for other people — especially other women — is the best thing I could ask for,” Rasbaugh said. She is the daughter of Michael and Julie Rasbaugh of Howe.

ZEKE WACHTMAN is a graduate of Lakeland High School and will attend Purdue University in the fall to major in engineering. He would like to pursue a career in mechanical engineering in northeast Indiana and also help part-time on his family’s farm. “The diligence I have learned through my activities will help me accomplish my future goals,” Wachtman said. He is the son of Brian and Markelle Wachtman of Howe.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients and thank you to all the applicants! There are incredible students all around our county.
