The fifth Heartland REMC Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 22, at the Huntington County Fairgrounds. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and will last until 12:30 p.m.
Important to all members is the election. Once they are registered, members will receive a ballot and can immediately cast their vote. There are five director seats up for election this year. All directors are elected at-large, which means members have the right to vote for directors in all five districts.
After registering and casting your ballot, you will be treated to a buffet lunch provided by Nelson’s BBQ.
The Huntington Dairy Queen outlets will be providing free ice cream and the Ossian Conversation Club will have free sugar corn. The Z Animal Crossing Petting Zoo will be making a return visit again this year. There will be several vendors on hand as well, including TransWorld Network with information on its Wi-Power Internet service; Wabash Valley Power, the wholesale provider for Heartland REMC; and Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. Parkview Health will have free mini health screenings available.
The business meeting is set for 1 p.m. Heartland REMC members can then learn about the progress of the cooperative over the last year. Near the end of the meeting, a random drawing will be held and 20 scholarships will be awarded to students’ whose parents or guardians are members of Heartland REMC.
A map to the Huntington County Fairgrounds can be found in the June 2019 issue of Indiana Connection.
