To keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the Jan. 29 board meeting.

1. All directors were present along with CEO Steve Seibert and administrative assistant Lisa Hinton. 

2. The Dec. 18, 2019, board meeting minutes were approved.

3. The membership certificates and vouchers were reviewed and approved.

4. Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC. 

5. The CEO report was presented with Seibert reporting the following items:

a. Seibert provided directors with an update on the transition to Cooperative Response Center (CRC), the cooperatives new contracted call center.

b. Seibert provided a 2020 NRECA CEO conference report. 

c. Directors participated in a cooperative system tour on Jan. 10.

d. Seibert provide a 2019 renewable energy report to directors.

e. Seibert reported on the 2019 Hoosier Energy capital credit allocation.

f. Seibert updated directors on the SECURE Act and the RURAL Act.

g. Seibert reported the following meeting dates: LEDC annual meeting, Jan. 31; NRECA annual meeting, March 1-4; NRECA directors’ conference, April 5-7.

6. The board approved the inventory adjustment for the year ending Dec. 31, 2019. 

7. Adam Lock, safety and risk management instructor with Indiana Electric Cooperatives, provided personal protective equipment, rubber protective equipment and fall restraint and inspection safety training on Jan. 18. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents and no public liability claims to report.

8. 2020 committee assignments were reviewed by Chairman Jeff Vogel.

9. Director Kevin Waninger was selected delegate to the Hoosier Energy annual meeting to be held April 2.

10. Director Gary Waninger was re-elected to serve as Southern Indiana Power’s Hoosier Energy director for 2020.

11. A Youth Tour committee meeting has been scheduled for Feb. 19.

12. Seibert updated directors on an annual meeting committee meeting held Jan. 28.  The 2020 annual meeting will be held Tuesday, April 21, at the Tell City High School auditorium located at 900 12th St., Tell City. This year’s annual meeting will be a traditional business style meeting.  

13. Gary Waninger reported on the Hoosier Energy board meeting held Jan. 20.

14. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19.
