Boone Grove High School basketball players enjoy the “stadium” effect the gym’s new lighting provides. School officials lit up when learning about the energy cost savings that came with it.

Boone Grove High School was one of the 20 recipients of Power Moves® rebates from Kankakee Valley REMC in 2020. Your local electric cooperative offers Power Moves rebates for energy efficiency upgrades to farms, schools, businesses, and homes. Kankakee Valley REMC awarded nearly $114,000 in Power Moves rebates this year.

“We offer a variety of prescriptive rebates for homeowners and businesses for upgrades that also will reduce their long-term energy costs,” said Scott Sears, CEO of Kankakee Valley REMC. “We even work closely with businesses in virtually any industry on custom rebates to ensure that the upgrades are tailored to their particular needs.”

Rebate recipients in 2020 included businesses in diverse industries, such as manufacturing facilities, a golf course and farm operations. A variety of agribusinesses, including dairy farms, poultry facilities and more, also have previously received Power Moves rebates. Rebates are available for qualifying retrofit upgrades, installation of variable frequency drives and new construction.

More than a half-dozen Kankakee Valley REMC member-consumers received rebates for projects that included the purchase and installation of a variable speed pool pump, air source heat pump and heat pump water heater.

Kankakee Valley REMC is pleased to offer Power Moves rebates again in 2021. A list of 2021 rebates are available at powermoves.com. To learn about the Power Moves rebates and additional incentives to help your home or business, visit Kankakee Valley REMC’s website at kvremc.com.
