Kosciusko REMC recently welcomed Sarah Marsh to the co-op world. Marsh started as a temp and became a Member Service Representative toward the end of last year. As a member of the Member Service team, she plays a vital role in serving the daily needs of our KREMC members. We sat down with Marsh to learn more about her.
What brought you to work for Kosciusko REMC?
I had a friend tell me of the opportunity and knew KREMC was a great company with amazing employees. I wanted to be a part of that and help provide great customer service to the members.
Can you share a bit about your prior work experience?
I have been in customer service since I was 15 years old. I went on to become an insurance agent after high school, then transitioned into HR and Payroll at a home health agency. I took some time off to raise my children and, from there, took jobs that allowed me to be there for my family. That led me to drive a bus for Warsaw Community Schools and eventually work in the landscaping industry as a foreman. During that time, I earned my Master Gardener certification through Purdue Extension. Family is first and foremost in my life, so I went back to the schools and worked with special needs high school students. Though it was challenging, I loved that opportunity and learned a lot in that role. These positions allowed me to work with all kinds of people and grow my skills in customer service.
I am so excited for the opportunity here to use these acquired skills to better KREMC and the member experience.
What are you most excited about when it comes to your role as an MSR?
Getting to meet our members and help them through any challenges they are facing and bringing a smile to their faces.
What have your first few months been like?
It has been wonderful. The team here at KREMC is an amazing group of people who truly care about our community and others and want everyone to succeed.
What else would you like to share with us regarding your life outside of work?
I am married to Stephen Marsh, and I’m a mother of five beautiful children and a soon-to-be grandma! We enjoy friends and family and watching our children compete in soccer, track and field, and competitive mountain bike racing. We like to travel, be on the lake, and hike and bike the local trails and greenways. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve alongside great organizations in our community, like 2nd Mile Adventure & 2nd Mile Missions, Kosciusko County Velo, and Warsaw Community Church. One of my favorite things is encouraging youth and women to find a closer relationship with God through the beauty of his Creation.
