The Operation Round Up program awards local non-profits with grants to support the work they do in the community. The Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up® board awarded $3,820 to the following organizations:

Plymouth’s Blessings in a Backpack program received funding to assist with the cost of the weekend backpack program. The Blessings in a Backpack program mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide weekend meals for elementary school children in food-insecure households.

Serenity House, Inc. received funding to assist with the initial cost of new residents who may not be able to afford entry on their own. Serenity House provides a safe, clean, and structured environment for men and women alike to become free from addiction to drugs and alcohol and become a productive member of society.

The next round of grants will be awarded in January. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service territory are eligible to apply. The organization does not have to be a member of Marshall County REMC. Applications are available at marshallremc.com.

ENROLL IN THE OPERATION ROUND UP PROGRAM

The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to support worthy causes in the community and work together to help others. For less than $1 per month, members can round up their Marshall County REMC electric bill to support the communities and residents of Marshall County.

If 5,000 members participated in the Operation Round Up program, $30,000 would go directly back to our community. On average, the program distributes about $5,000 quarterly to the organizations that apply, intending to support the residents of Marshall County in many ways.

Thank you to those members who round up their electric bill to the next highest dollar each month and to the Marshall County Community Foundation for making these donations possible.
