Kahle wins first-place scholarship from Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives
Jacob Kahle, a Kalida High School senior, was awarded a first-place, $3,600 scholarship at the Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives Children of Members Scholarship competition held in April.
Kahle, the son of Mark (Virgil) and Deborah Kahle, was sponsored by Paulding-Putnam Electric Cooperative.
Twenty-four high school seniors from each of the Ohio-based electric distribution cooperatives competed for $37,000 in scholarships. A panel of independent judges reviewed applications and interviewed finalists.
The state’s electric cooperatives, all Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives, serve more than 380,000 homes and businesses in 77 of Ohio’s 88 counties.
Paulding student wins Freeland Scholarship from Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives
Emma McMaster, a Paulding High School senior, was awarded $2,800 through the Louise Freeland Scholarship provided by Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives.
Named in honor of a long-time employee of Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives, the Louise Freeland Scholarships are awarded annually to the children of electric cooperative employees and trustees. A panel of independent judges reviewed the applications and interviewed the students before determining the winners. Only four students across the state of Ohio were selected.
McMaster is the daughter of Amy and John McMaster. Her father is a lineman at Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative.
