During the April 2024 Annual Meeting, it was announced that the Loogootee Substation would be renamed the August Bauer Hoosier Energy Loogootee Substation. On July 2, the sign was installed at the substation, making the name change official. Bauer, director of District 6, has served on the Daviess-Martin County REMC Board of Directors for 52 years.
