In an effort to keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the May 31 board meeting.
- All directors were present along with CEO Steve Seibert and Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton. Also present was Director of State Policy and Broadband Initiatives Allie Jones of IEC.
- Jones provided a legislative update to the board.
- The April 26, 2023, board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
- The membership certificates were reviewed.
- The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
- The director’s report was reviewed and approved.
- Seibert reviewed the Hoosier Energy Wholesale Power Cost Tracker (WPCT). The board approved passing through the Wholesale Power Cost Tracker increase effective July 1.
- Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC.
- The board approved an edit to the Industrial Power Service Rate #401.
- The board approved current financial investments.
- The CEO report was presented with Seibert reporting the following items:
- Seibert reported on the IEC Project Indiana Guatemala trip April 27-May 13.
- Seibert reported the cooperative will use two spray crews this year. They began May 30.
- Seibert reviewed 2022 distributed generation reports.
- Seibert informed the board of bill print changes.
- Seibert provided a 2022 property tax report.
- Seibert reported the following meeting dates: ACES Member Conference, June 1-2; Cooperative’s One meeting, June 6; CFC Forum, June 19-21; CoBank Director’s Conference, July 24-26; and IEC Director’s Retreat, July 29-30.
- Vice President of Safety Training and Compliance Jon Elkins performed forklift safety training on April 27 and RESAP review on May 25. Cory Berg, safety training instructor at Hoosier Energy, provided live line demo training on May 5. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents, and no public liability claims to report.
- An Annual Meeting Committee meeting has been scheduled for July 28.
- The board approved participation in the NRUCFC Cooperative System Integrity Fund.
- Director Gary Waninger reported on the Hoosier Energy board meeting held on May 8.
- The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be Thursday, June 29.
