Arianna Bustos — Marketing Intern

Arianna Bustos

Arianna Bustos is thrilled to join LaGrange County REMC as the new marketing intern. She is a Lakeland High School senior with a passion for sports, especially softball.

Bustos has been playing softball since first grade, which has been a big part of her life. She played three years on the varsity team so far and 10 years of travel ball. She is also starting her fourth year managing the varsity football team, which she has enjoyed.

After graduating, Bustos will be attending Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) in Fort Wayne to major in marketing and to live out her dream of playing college softball. She chose to major in marketing because she loves being creative and wants a career that involves collaboration and presents new challenges.

“My time interning at LaGrange County REMC has been fantastic,” said Bustos. “Everyone is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and I’m excited to be gaining real-world experience. This opportunity has only reinforced my desire to pursue a career in this field.”

She is looking forward to contributing to the company and learning more about marketing while she is here.

Briana Poe — Customer Service Intern

Briana Poe

Welcome Briana Poe, a senior at Lakeland High School, to the LaGrange County REMC intern team. Poe is a hard-working and driven individual with a passion for sports, including basketball and tennis. She has been involved in these sports for nearly her entire life.

Basketball has been a constant in her life since she was 7 years old, and she has been part of the tennis program since her freshman year. Additionally, she is heading into her fourth year as a varsity football manager. Poe’s love for these sports began at a young age, inspired by her older brother and sister.

After graduating, she will be heading to Searcy, Arkansas, to attend Harding University to major in nursing. Her dream is to become a pediatric nurse. Poe chose this field because she wants to provide care to those who need it.

Of her time at LaGrange County REMC, Poe said, “It’s going great! I have learned a lot about computers that I had no idea about before.” When asked about her favorite aspect of interning here, she said, “I really like taking calls.”

Although she does not plan to pursue a career in customer service, Poe is eager to learn more skills that will benefit her in the medical field, including those involved with technology and communication.

Blake Curtis — Lineman Intern

Blake Curtis

The final new member of our LaGrange County REMC intern team is Blake Curtis, a senior at Lakeland High School. He is a dedicated, hard-working individual who enjoys being outdoors.

While at Lakeland, Curtis has been involved with the wrestling program for six years. He originally joined the team to get active and stay in shape, but it quickly became one of his passions.

His love for the outdoors translates into his plans for the future as he aspires to become a lineman. He will be attending the North American Lineman Training Center in McEwen, Tennessee, to continue his education.

Despite the recent heat wave, Curtis has had a great experience at LaGrange County REMC. “I really enjoy it here, it has been a fun new experience,” he said. When asked about this internship, Curtis said “My favorite thing is getting to see the linemen in action and work with them firsthand.”

He looks forward to learning more about his future career and getting involved in the action.
