In an effort to keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the Oct. 25 board meeting.

1. All directors were in attendance along with President/CEO Steve Seibert, Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton, Manager of Finance and Accounting Amy Ramsey and Manager of Operations Steve Fortwendel.

2. The Sept. 27, 2023, board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

3. The membership certificates were reviewed.

4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.

5. The director’s report was reviewed and approved.

6. As the first item of business, Fortwendel gave an informative update on the operations department.

7. Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC.

8. The board approved the IRS Form 990 as presented by Ramsey.

9. The CEO report was presented with Seibert reporting the following items:

1. a. Seibert informed directors 1998 capital credit retirement checks will be mailed on Nov. 16.

1. b. Seibert reported on a meeting with Sen. Messmer on Sept. 28.

1. c. Seibert and Director Randy Kleaving attended the IEC groundbreaking on Sept. 29.

1. d. Seibert provided a Cooperatives One update.

1. e. Seibert informed the board we have been notified of an upcoming Indiana sales tax audit.

1. f. Seibert reported on CFC capital securities.

1. g. Seibert reviewed 2023 IEC rate survey results.

1. h. Seibert provided 2023 ACSI scores.

1. i. Seibert reviewed the following upcoming meeting dates: IEC legislative dinner Nov. 20 and the IEC annual meeting Dec. 4–5.

10. Jon Elkins, vice president of safety, training and compliance with IEC, conducted general safety discussion and reviewed safety rules on Oct. 23. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents, and no public liability claims to report.

11. Director Gary Waninger reported on an Operation Round Up trustees meeting held on Oct. 12. Six grant applications totaling $13,560 were approved for funding.

12. Director Waninger reported on a Hoosier Energy board meeting held Oct. 9.

13. Director Kleaving reported on an Indiana Electric Cooperatives board meeting held Oct. 18.

14. Director training information was provided to the board.

15. The cooperative received thank you notes from St. Meinrad Rocks, Robert Kreisle, Lady Marksmen Volleyball Team, Kaden Chestnut, Garrick Huber and St. Meinrad Chamber of Commerce.

16. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.
