In an effort to keep you informed of your Cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the Oct. 30 board meeting.
- All directors were in attendance, along with President/CEO Steve Seibert, Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton, and Office/IT Manager Karen Mangum.
- The Sept. 26, 2024, board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
- The membership certificates were reviewed.
- The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
- The director’s report was reviewed and approved.
- As the first item of business, Mangum gave an informative update on the Office/IT Department.
- Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC.
- The board approved the IRS Form 990 as presented by Seibert.
- The CEO report was presented with Seibert reporting the following items:
- Discussed an office master plan
- Provided a GIS project update
- Journeyman Lineman Jimmy Applegate has been selected to participate in the 2025 Project Indiana.
- The 1999 capital credit retirement checks will be mailed on Nov. 14.
- Reviewed the 2024 IEC rate survey results
- Noted the following upcoming meeting dates: IEC legislative dinner Nov. 18, IEC Annual Meeting Dec. 9-10
- Fiber contractor safety awareness training was conducted on Oct. 1. Seibert advised that there were no lost-time accidents and no public liability claims to report.
- Director Gary Waninger reported on an Operation Round Up trustees meeting held on Oct. 23. Four grant applications totaling $11,700 were approved for funding.
- Seibert reported on an Annual Meeting committee meeting held on Oct. 28.
- Director Waninger reported on a Hoosier Energy board meeting held on Oct. 7.
- Director Randy Kleaving reported on an Indiana Electric Cooperatives board meeting held on Oct. 16.
- The board reviewed section 5, Director Nominations, of the NRECA Good Governance Task Force Report.
- The cooperative received thank you notes from St. Meinrad Rocks, PCDC, Nick Schutzius, and Angela Goffinet.
- The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m.
